Snowbasin Summer Activities – Ogden Valley Utah (Eden, Huntsville, Liberty)

Most people think of Snowbasin Resort for winter of course.  After all, Snowbasin enjoys the benefits of The Greatest Snow on Earth along with Nordic Valley (fka Wolf Mountain) and Powder Mountain.  But what about summers?  From hiking, biking, disc golf, free concerts, food and many other activities, you’ll never got board here.

The vistas from the top and bottom of the resort are breathtaking year-round. Spending time up here is a great way to beat the summer heat too.

This shot was taken in mid-June after a wet spring, so everything is still super green and beautiful as you can see.

A Little About Ogden Valley’s Causey Reservoir

Causey Reservoir is one of the most peaceful bodies of water I’ve ever experienced.  Photos were take from about 100 feet up during early Spring (most of the snow was gone and it hadn’t started to green up yet).  Click on each photo for full size image.

Causey Reservoir NE

All 142 acres of water are located 11 miles northeast of Huntsville Utah. Cause is a mecca or recreational opportunities, both on and off the water, including:

  • Hiking
  • Horseback riding
  • Mountain biking
  • Fishing – mostly trout like Cutthroat, Rainbow and Brown
  • Water sports – no wake & no motorized vessels
  • Swimming and cliff jumping are also popular on the lake

If you like to camp or picnic, there are sites close by in Memorial Park on the Ogden River.

Causey Reservoir SW

Causey Reservoir is considered part of the beautiful Ogden Valley, which is also known for it’s other recreational opportunities at Snowbasin Ski Resort, Powder Mountain Ski Resort, Nordic Valley Ski Resort (formally known as Wolf Mountain), Pineview Reservoir – and much more.

Ogden Valley Utah Aerial Panorama Photos

People ask me why we chose Ogden Valley Utah to live.  I got to the point where I realized that unless you’ve spent time here, there’s just no way to understand the beauty of the Ogden Valley.  Besides being home to three amazing ski resorts: Snowbasin (host of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games), Powder Mountain (know affectionally as PowMow) and Nordic Valley (formally Wolf Mountain), there’s dozens of reasons to live here.

The year-round beauty is tops on the list, and these aerial panorama photos (taken between Eden and Liberty) will give you a little bit of a taste.  Click to see full size (really large) images.

Aerial Photos from Ogden Valley Balloon Festival, 2014

Here’s one more reason to love the Ogden Valley – the annual Balloon and Artist Festival.  This year, launches were at Snowcrest Jr. High School.  There was an evening launch at Nordic Valley (formally Wolf Mountain) along with the night Balloon Glow, concerts (all day and night), food, artists, vendors, kids play area, and so much more.

To learn more about the Festival, check out the Ogden Valley Balloon and Artist Festival web site.

So, Ann contacted us and asked if she could list it and I, I’m leery about Real Estate Agents and so I said, well, I have a piece of property to sell. If you sell the property, then I’ll consider you to sell the house, cause I want a Real Estate Agent that’s serious about what he or she is selling. And Ann did. She took over and got all kinds of contacts, people giving us offers. And she sold it in a very short time, and I was impressed. We’re so happy that we chose her and her husband because all the way through the process she kept us informed constantly, on a weekly basis. It was just constant, bringing people through the home. And the other Real Estate Agents would, in the past, it was kinda like “List it with us, and we’ll hope that if somebody wants exactly that house, they’ll call us and sell it”. But, in this case, Ann sold it for us. I felt good enough about how we were treated that we referred a couple of other friends. She sold their houses too, so we’re very impressed. I don’t think you’ll ever find…
It’s the personal relationship we have.
I don’t think you’ll ever find another Real Estate Agent that would do better for you than Ann and her husband.
It was a very personal relationship. And I never felt pressured. An offer came through; I just so appreciated that she would give us all information that we needed to make an educated decision. And she was willing to talk it through. Sometimes it was a half a dozen times she would have to repeat the same thing over again because we had never been this route and it was new to us. And I think more than anything, I just enjoyed the association, the relationship.
She met with us numerous times, and every time she’d call up and say, “Ok, I’ll be there at 10:00,” “ I’ll be there at 11:30.” You could look at the clock and within 1 minute, one side or other the time she said she’d be there she would ring the doorbell! I’ve never seen anybody so punctual!
